The SV events team were out in full force on Friday 5 July at Harlow Rugby Club as part of Aon's annual charity cycling event. Sports therapists, Annalie, Victoria, Matthew and Annabel set up their massage beds ready for the athletes. Since 2015, Aon has raised a remarkable £500k for Action Medical Research. The charity only receives funding from personal and corporate sponsorship, so these events a perfect way to raise awareness and money.
The event involved a series of cycling distances from 39 miles to 101 miles. One hundred Aon employees threw on their cycling gear to explore the Essex countryside in the gorgeous sunshine. All routes finished at Harlow Rugby Club, where the athletes were greeted with our sports therapists ready to provide post-event sports massages.
Employees had different levels of cycling experience; some had never ridden a road bike before, whereas others train regularly for events like this. Either way, our sports massages went down very well!
SV Sports Therapy loves to give back to our community - supporting events is a wonderfully rewarding experience and is something we will continue to do!
