On 27 October, Fleur attended a wound management and suturing course for sporting professionals.
The course was delivered by Lubas Medical and held at their head office in Cardiff.
The day involved assessment of injuries and a workshop of knowing when to use each management method.
There was also a lot of practice of suturing, gluing and stapling to get the skills needed to help with open wounds on the pitch.
The 7-hour course was carried out under the supervision of Dr Neil Warren who also teaches junior doctors their stitching techniques at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
Fleur is delighted to have expanded her first aid skills and is now ready for all eventualities at future Harlow Rugby Club games, such as the eyebrow injury below.
[Although deeper or more complicated injuries will still be referred on to doctors!]
