On Saturday 2 November, the SV events team was on site at the final Nuclear Races event of 2019: Nuclear Fallout.
The event village was still pretty churned up from the OCR World Championships in October so the mud on the course must have been even more challenging!
The waves started in the early morning sunshine but as the day progressed the heavens opened and torrential rain set in.
However, the waves didn’t stop. Wave after wave entered out onto the course, with each round getting muddier and more slippery, with the runners pushing on through the freezing lakes and tough obstacles.
We did hear that the famous nuclear death slide was particularly cold this time round.
The SV events team were on hand to help with injury advice and pre and post massage and taping. We all had a fab day!
Well done to everyone who took part and to those who gained the 2019 Mighty Mudallion Medal, which you can only get by completing all three of the Nuclear’s races this year: Nuclear Rush in May, Nuclear Blast/ Blackout in September and Nuclear Fallout in November.
It was a fantastic final event of the year and we cannot wait to be part of the 2020 events!
