Our Director and Lead Therapist Sophie, is a dab hand at climbing the odd mountain or two!
Sophie and her friend Nicola travelled to the Lake district last weekend with one goal in mind - to climb Scafell Pike in Cumbria. It is a steep and very tough hike in the best of weathers!
They chose the Borrowdale route:
9 miles
1000m ascent
5.5 hours climbing
They were so close and reached 30 mins from the summit then called it, as the weather was so bad - Hail stones, sleet, wind, the lot!
Danger and fear! Other people told them they had turned back as it was too dangerous and couldn’t see ahead or around them to get their bearings.
They were both gutted not to complete the hike, but should be very proud for a such a great attempt.
Sometimes you just have to let mother nature decide and she was feeling very stubborn that day!
In Sophie's words: "Scafell Pike 2025? Abso blaaaady lutely. But not in October again!"
